Nearly a decade ago, we discovered a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the Douro Valley. Enchanted by the terraced hillsides, century-old stone houses, and sweeping views of the Douro River, we knew this Quinta de Alvites was destined to be more than just a home! The property's legacy is as unique as its landscape. Since acquiring, we have restored some of its historic buildings and cultivated new vineyards, giving rise to the acclaimed Pires & Turner Escolha. Come stay and have a taste!

Quinta de Alvites is a charming working farm where every day feels like a small adventure. Guests can wander through the vineyards, take slow country walks with our gentle poney, help feed the sheep and chickens, and finish the afternoon picking fresh fruit straight from the orchard. It’s an authentic countryside escape where nature sets the pace and you’re invited to be part of the farm’s daily life.
